Ofori Amponsah Live In Chicago
Arguably the most famous contemporary highlife artist of the moment, Ofori Amponsah will be performing live at the world renowned Wild Hare Concert Hall in Chicago, IL on April 30, 2011. Amponsah will be on his Real Vision Tour slated to begin this spring and end in the summer. He is scheduled to perform in more than 10 cities, including a highly anticipated live performance in The Windy City in April.
Amponsah has distinguished himself as a legendary songwriter who uses melodic lyrics of love both in Twi and English to tell his story. He has collaborated with great musicians like Kofi Nti, Barosky and K. K. Fosu to create some chart topping hits. Amponsah is known for his metaphors and his distinctive gift to create imagery in the body of his music. He has won several music awards and achievements. In 2006, he set his self apart from his competition by winning 7 Awards in one night at the Ghana Music Awards. He followed up in the same manner with his Emmanuella album in 2007. In 2008, his smash hit album, Odwo which featured Samini on its lead song won 3 Ghana Music Awards. Today he is the most decorated artist in Ghana Music Award history.
